Crayola Color Wonder Products

Back in March, Sherry Holetzky included Crayola Color Wonder in her Kids Crafts blog about cool craft products. However, my family just loves these products so much that we felt they deserved their own article. Everyone knows Crayola as probably the most popular brand of crayons, constantly coming out with new colors and even larger boxes. But Crayola has come up with this amazing product that claims to be mess-free and easy to do anywhere. Yes, parents, Color Wonder products are just about one of the most innovative creative tools of our children’s time. The trick to the Crayola Color … Continue reading

Welcome to Crafts for Kids!

I am really excited about this blog, and I want to welcome each of you. This is going to be a lot of fun. My name is Sherry Holetzky, and I also host the Home and Garden Blog. I have four kids of my own and I enjoy coming up with ideas for craft projects, and working on crafts with my kids. A little imagination goes a long way when it comes to crafts, and I was pretty creative as a child (says my mom who is not biased at all…). I was always making something, or more accurately, making … Continue reading

Scrapbooking Blog Introductions

Hi! My name is Crystal and I have the pleasure of sharing two of my greatest passions with you – my family and scrapbooking – on the Families.com scrapbooking blog. I’ve been avidly scrapbooking since 2000 documenting my amazing husband and two adorable daughters. I love learning new techniques and sharing them with others. One of my closest friends, Lisa, is my partner on the scrapbooking.families.com blog. We have been friends since 2000 as well. Our husbands went to grade school, junior high and high school together. They were reunited while tending our respective daughters, who are 3 months apart, … Continue reading

Healthier Snacks for the New Year

My 7-year-old’s New Year’s resolution: See how many ounces of chocolate syrup she can pour over Peanut Butter Cheerios before getting a stern, “Enough!” from me. And here I thought she was adding the chocolate syrup to white milk. Hmmm… chocolate milk over Peanut Butter Cheerios… that doesn’t sound half bad. We are Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup fans around here; however, since we’ve made like lemmings and are trying to eat healthier in 2012, it’s out with the sugary vending machine staples and in with nutritious munchies like Peanut Butter Cheerios. Excuse me. I mean Multi Grain Cheerios Peanut Butter. … Continue reading

Removing Super Stubborn Stains

As a mom of a very craftaholic little girl who has used walls, carpet and clothing as her canvases in the past, I know a thing or two about stain removal. In fact, I consider myself a stain removal expert. My top commercial stain removal products (in no particular order) are: Orange Miracle Biz Stain Activated Booster Goo-Gone OxiClean Carbona Stain Devil Simple Green I’m sure there are a number of other excellent commercial stain removers on the market, but I tend to stick with ones that I have had good experiences with, and the aforementioned products have served me … Continue reading

Tea Parties to Reinforce Etiquette: Part 2/The Homeschool Tea

Let’s discuss tea etiquette. In order for you to plan a tea for the purpose of teaching proper behavior you must be aware of the basic manners for hosting a tea. Once you know the proper etiquette and have the right supplies you will be ready to plan a tea for your homeschool co-op event. Homeschool co-op teas are quite successful if the hostess is in the know with regards to how to plan a tea. I highly suggest planning a homeschool tea as a method to introduce manners in a group setting. This will reinforce the importance of personal … Continue reading

Buy Your American Girl Scrapbook Supplies For Christmas

I have a few nieces that are right in the middle of those pre-teen years. My daughter is still too young for that, but she thinks she is as old as they are. Something I always struggle with is what to get them for birthdays and Christmas. I ran across some adorable ideas recently on www.twopeasinabucket.com. Did you know that the American Girl brand makes great craft supplies for this age group? I didn’t. Maybe this is common knowledge, but what a great idea for Moms that scrapbook to share their fun with their daughters with one of their favorite … Continue reading

Product Review-Martha Stewart Large Circle Cutter

I have to admit that I am a very simple scrapbooker. I do not have a lot of “tools”. Rarely do I use them, so I don’t see the need to buy tools when I could spend my money on paper! But, I was watching Oprah the other day, and saw a tool that I thought I would actually use. It was the Martha Stewart Large Circle Cutter. I grabbed my 40% off one item coupon for Michaels and decided to head out and see how much it was. Honestly, it looked really cool and my free-hand circles never turn … Continue reading
